Why are we looking for new volunteer advisers?

Life is getting harder for many people. People are still reeling from the loss of the Universal Credit uplift while dealing with increasing prices.

That’s why it’s so important that organisations like Citizens Advice have the resources to help people who are struggling.

Who do we help?

We are the first port of call for many people when they meet a challenge that they need help with. For others, we’re the last resort when they are in distress and don’t know where to turn.

Anyone can use our service, no matter their age, religion, race, sexual orientation or if they have any other characteristics.

However, we primarily focus or work on helping the most vulnerable members of our society.

Our clients put immense trust in our volunteer advisers, sharing problems that they might not even tell their families about. That’s because our values of confidentiality, independence and impartiality are central to the advice we give.

Why become a volunteer adviser at Citizens Advice?

Here are some of the reasons our current volunteers give.

“It’s a great feeling when you are able to close a successful case and know that you’ve made a big difference in someone’s life.”

“It gave me the opportunity to brush up on some of my skills and learn new skills.”

“There’s a brilliant social atmosphere.”
