Our Supporters

Helping us to help others

We’re a financially independent charity that aims to help people who have complex issues to find solutions and that requires support from a variety of sources.
Support comes to us in the form of time, money or services and we are exceedingly thankful to:

Our volunteers

Without the time, effort and skill of our team of volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to provide our service. All of our advisers undergo 26 weeks of training on a variety of topics, including debt, housing, employment, benefits, consumer rights, immigration, discrimination, and family and relationship issues, so they are ready to help no matter what the challenge confronting them.

Individuals

Individual giving plays a massive role in helping us to deliver our service.
Thank you very much to everyone who donates. Your compassion and community spirit is vital to our service. Not only do your donations help us to run the service, but it also stands as an example of the power citizens can have when everyone gives a little.

Organisations, foundations and trusts

Much of our funding and support comes from organisations, foundations and trust and we’d like to say a special thank you to:

Bath and North East Somerset Council » The funding we have received through our long-term partnership with our local authority has been essential for us to provide a high-quality service on an ongoing basis.

Dorothy HouseMacmillan Cancer Support and MS Society » Our partnership with these charities has enabled us to help people with serious life-altering conditions to help people more quickly and to a greater degree.

Mind » For many years, we have been working closely with the Bath branch of Mind and are grateful to Mind for helping to fund this partnership. Research has shown that there is a definite correlation between debt and mental health issues, and research has also suggested that there is a correlation between Universal Credit and mental health issues. Therefore, we see this ongoing partnership as essential for people in our community.

Quartet Community Foundation » Every winter there are many residents in Bath and North East Somerset who have to choose between heating and eating. When we thought we weren’t going to be able to have enough funding to meet demand, Quartet Foundation’s donation to our fuel top-up services enabled us to help every client that came to us needing a boost to get them through the colder months. Quartet has also generously helped us to sustain our service through our response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

St. John’s Foundation » St John’s have provided substantial funding for our strategic development, enabling us to recruit a Business Development and Marketing Manager to deliver greater partnership working for our charity.

Wessex Water » Thanks to funding from Wessex Water, we’ve been able to enhance our debt advice provision for social housing tenants, helping clients to pay their water bills and reduce their arrears.

The Top 52 Annual Partners Club

The Top 52 Club is a group of businesses and organisations that are dedicated to improving our community in Bath and North East Somerset by supporting our charity.
