Thank you to our local support network

Local funding is an essential source of support for us as an independent charity. That’s why we’re so grateful to councils from across the region who help us out every year.

What is special about local funding?

Organisations, like town councils, provide a connection to people in small communities across Bath & North East Somerset. By funding us, they ensure that people in their communities can get help with their complex issues.

Also, their knowledge of the needs of residents can be vital in designing our services.

For example, we’re working with Paulton Parish Council to find a suitable location to provide advice to foodbank users in the area.

“I am really worried about how the cost of living crisis is affecting people in our community. Supporting charities like Citizens Advice is crucial as they provide a life line for the most vulnerable people in our communities. So, we’re really happy to be working with them.”

Gail Garlick, Chair at Paulton Parish Council

How are we helping communities across the region?

In recent years, we have worked with a number of town councils to deliver projects. In 2021, we worked with The Saltford Community Association, providing advice and small support payments to residents in the area.

Other local authorities like Keynsham Town Council and Paulton and Westfield Parish Councils have also supported us throughout the pandemic. In particular, they’ve supported the training of more advisers, which is an ongoing project that is critical in meeting the needs of residents.

We are exceedingly grateful to these local groups for helping us so we can help others.

There are lots of ways to support us. You can find out more by clicking here.
