We are looking for an experienced and well-organised debt adviser to work within our debt advice and income maximisation service. You will be an integral member of our debt advice process. Unlike most models, our clients have the opportunity, at the point of contact, to speak to an experienced debt adviser (you) who has the expertise to quickly diagnose presenting issue, deal with emergencies, and answer technical questions. There is no casework involved in this role. You will be the first point of contact providing specialist initial advice about all presenting debt issues, before directing clients through appropriate next steps. This work requires a high level of knowledge and experience in collection, enforcement, insolvency and court processes.
You will be part of a friendly, dedicated team with a real focus on clients. We are locally funded, therefore able to measure our success by the outcomes we get for our clients, rather than the number of cases we can push through. We have worked together to build our debt advice service and pride ourselves on providing a holistic service that meets the needs of our clients at each stage of their journey.
The post is part-time (22.5/30 hours per week to be worked over 3/4 days). You could work from home or at our office in Bath. This job is suitable for remote working, with occasional travel for meetings and training.
We value diversity and promote equality and would welcome suitably qualified people with disabilities and minority ethnic applicants as these groups are under-represented in our workforce.
